Have you heard ??
* You have to do 50 percent of that work!
* Eighty percent of what she said was false!
Today we are talking about percentages.
This is how to calculate the percentage.
Percentage = {(completed Size) / (Total Size)} x 100
• Completed amount is the amount of completed by you.
• Total number is the absolute number to do.
Consider the following example.
1. John had 90 mangoes out of which 32 were for sale.
i. What is the percentage of mango that John could sell?
ii. What’s the percentage of mangoes remaining?
i. What is the percentage of mango that John could sell?
ii. What’s the percentage of mangoes remaining?
Answers,
i. Percentage of mangoes sold
= (Number of mangoes sold) / (Total number of mangoes) x 100
= (32/90) x 100
= 35.55%
= 36%
= (Number of mangoes sold) / (Total number of mangoes) x 100
= (32/90) x 100
= 35.55%
= 36%
ii. Percentage Of remaining mango
= (Remaining mango) / (total mango) x 100
= (Remaining mango) / (total mango) x 100
= {(90-32) / 90} x100
= (58) / (90) x 100
= 64.44%
= 64%
= (58) / (90) x 100
= 64.44%
= 64%
I think it is clear now. Looking forwad to our next lesson.
